Types Of Medical Cover

First Aider

A first aider is someone who has undertaken appropriate training for the circumstances.

They must hold a valid certificate of competence in emergency first aid at work or another level of training or qualification equivalent to a FREC3, which includes basic life support, oxygen administration, major blood loss, etc.

First Aiders are used on low-risk events. Contact us now to get a quote for a first aider for your event.

Technician

An EMT has the skills to assess a patient’s condition and to manage respiratory, cardiac, and trauma emergencies. They are also able to administer various time critical medication as well as basic medications.

An EMT is an unregistered government bodied clinician and would be trained to the equivalent of FREC5. An EMT will be used on Medium to High risk events.

Paramedic

Paramedics are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and work as autonomous practitioners. Their primary role is to provide advanced emergency medical care for time-critical and emergent patients.

The ‘paramedic’ title is protected by law, and all paramedics must be registered with the HCPC to practice. A Paramedic can administer time-critical pre-hospital medication.

Team Medical Cover

Combining the relevant skills of first aiders, technicians, and paramedics will provide a professional, efficient, and safe environment for medium—to large-scale events.

Team medical cover may include additional support and facilities such as treatment centres, cycle responders, motorcycle paramedics, rapid response vehicles and emergency ambulances.
